LGAA's Recurring Shows

LGAA has several competitions and exhibitions every year. Two of them are Juried and well-suited to professional and intermediate-level artists. The other three are for artists of all levels. Beginners and emerging artists who haven't ever had their art in an exhibit can benefit by taking advantage of these opportunities.

Kennedy Road Art Show

This summer show is open to local artists of all levels. Each year the show is based on a different theme. It is held at the park-like residence of LGAA members Hershel Abelman and Ingeborg Jakobson. There are no entry fees and no commissions.

Greater Bay Area Open (GBAO)

This biennial juried competition and exhibition is open to all bay area artists including non-members who reside in the surrounding counties from Napa to Carmel. It is a joint venture with LGAA and New Museum Los Gatos (NUMU) and is held in its art museum gallery in the downtown Civic Center. Cash prizes up to $6,000 are awarded.

Artist of the Year

This competition and exhibition is open to all members, who may submit one piece of art at the end of each year for peer voting. Six winners are chosen, and the top three receive gift certificates from University Art. All the entries submitted can be viewed at our Instagram Gallery link on the Artist of the Year page under the Shows menu.
