LGAA Members Critique

with George Rivera

George Rivera is returning with his artist wife Kristin Lindseth to Critique LGAA Members' Art!  Members who would like to participate are asked to bring TWO differing pieces of art. George will point out features that would make one art work a better show candidate, and why, along with ideas that could make it even better.

Beloved by LGAA members for many years. George Rivera, M.A., was the past Executive Director and Curator of the Triton Museum of Art for 28 years. Not only a fine artist, he taught art at San Jose State University, UC Berkeley Extension, D'Anza College, and Mission College.

Scott Hamill

Unlock the Joy of Painting

LIVE DEMO

Scott presents a lively and entertaining demonstration on how to paint a California water scene that looks convincing and captures its essence.  He is a masterful and prolific plein air artist with a painterly style and skill set many artists would love to have.  Scott demonstrates in oils how to acquire the skills needed to paint beautiful water scenes such as breaking waves, still water, reflections, ripples, etc.

To see examples of Scott's work and learn more about him, visit his website at scotthamillart.com

At the monthly demo meetings, LGAA features the "Members Peer Gallery."  Members may bring a recent art piece to display.  A competition is held and members vote for their favorite choices.  Each of the top three winners receives a certificate, and this month the 1st place winner won an LGAA apron. Many attendees were awestruck at how beautiful the gallery was this month. All gallery contributors receive one credit point toward the Artist of the Year Award, held at the end of the year.
