Artist of the Year
Competition and Online Exhibition 

The Los Gatos Art Association has a long-held tradition in which members vote for their peers and the rules have been updated in 2026. Participation points will no longer be considered in this exhibit.

The Artist of the Year show will be held online in the Fall.
New Rules: 2 Step process

Step 1:
a. All competing artists can enter up to 3 of their favorite pieces for online submission.
b. All Current Members will vote on all online initial entry paintings
c. When initial voting is done, each artist's painting that received the most votes will move on to Step 2:

Step 2:
a. The painting of each artist that gets the most votes (only one for each artist), will be invited to bring and show this art piece at the December Holiday meeting. Must adhere to the LGAA exhibit rules for presentation.

b. At the December Holiday meeting, all members in attendance will vote to decide the final award winners.

Prizes awarded:
Best in Show: $200, First Place: $100 and Honorable Mention $50 in each of the following categories:
Watercolor, Acrylic, Oil, Photography, Pastel, Sculpture, Mixed Media 2d only. 

Ribbons are presented to all winners. In addition, the winning artists are able to add their award and place title to their art resumes.

LGAA Exhibit rules apply to all artwork entered.
